Hardware Performance
Tuning is done by evaluating bottlenecks, logfiles, server stresstests and by studying boring documentation. Quintagroup.com is a fine-tuned server environment which gives you the speed you need for your content management software.
Here is our hardware setup:
Datacenter: Our main
servers are located in Serverbeach datacenter in San Antonio, Los Angeles, Virginia
known for its great internet connectivity. This datacenter features
on-site, auto-switched power generator, and centralized UPS systems
provide power conditioning and ensure uninterrupted data center
operation. Additionally, the generators are regularly tested to ensure
that it will continue to function in the event of an emergency. Our
data center is physically isolated from everyone but level three
technicians. Public access is strictly forbidden. Access to the floor
the datacenter resides on is restricted and completely locked down.
Our servers are connected to a 100% Cisco Powered Network. Using
enterprise-class Cisco networking gear, all routers, layer-2 switches,
and layer-3 switches are tested in labs prior to deployment to ensure
stability and interoperability.
Servers:
Our servers are
Athlon XP 2,2 GHz with 2Gb RAM (San Antonio, Texas, USA)
Athlon XP 2,2 GHz with 2Gb RAM (Los Angeles, USA)
Athlon XP 2,2 GHz with 2Gb RAM (Virginia, USA)
Operating system:
Our servers are running Linux RedHat 8.0, Fedora Core 5, Fedora Core 6
Server load: We keep the number of sites per servers very low. The
actual number of sites depends on how much ressources the sites use but
we never "push our servers to the limit".
